Cardboard Tube Holiday Star Ornaments

If you find this content useful, please consider helping me keep the site ad free by making a contribution.

This is a simple craft that your 4+ year old Holiday crafters will enjoy to no end. Not only are the materials for this project readily available in most homes, but they look lovely even without any added decorations.

Materials

  • Cardboard tubes
  • Ribbon
  • Hole puncher
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun (use a low heat version for little crafters)

Directions

1.) Cut the paper tubes into small sections. Each star is composed of five sections, and we found a toilet paper tube is the perfect size for five.

2.) Arrange your sections into groups of five.

3.) Use the hot glue gun to adhere all five sections together in the shape of a star. You can gently squeeze the tip of each star point to make them pointy. My little artist preferred to keep ours rounded.

4.) Punch a hole in the top of each star and loop a ribbon or piece of string through it.

If you and your littles want to take it one step further, you can paint or decorate these simple stars however you’d like.

Now your stars are ready to hang! Adorn your Christmas tree with them, or hang them on a wall or tie them to a holiday gift to give to a loved one. I hope you enjoy this simple craft as much as we did!
