This timeless play set up is a color theory lesson and science experiment all in one for your 2+ year old. Sometimes we do this in our sensory table inside, but the weather was so nice outside we set it up in a portable bin.
Materials
- Ice cube trays
- Divided snack tray
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Food coloring
- Scoops/droppers

Instructions
- Set up the materials as an invitation to play (baking soda in divided tray, colored vinegar in ice cube trays).
- Model how to use the materials and set boundaries (do we dump vinegar on the dogs? No. Do we throw the baking soda at your sister? No).
- Let your child explore the materials and process.
