Color Play

Fizzy Color Play

This timeless play set up is a color theory lesson and science experiment all in one for your 2+ year old. Sometimes we do this in our sensory table inside, but the weather was so nice outside we set it up in a portable bin.

Materials

  • Ice cube trays
  • Divided snack tray
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Food coloring
  • Scoops/droppers

Instructions

  1. Set up the materials as an invitation to play (baking soda in divided tray, colored vinegar in ice cube trays).
  2. Model how to use the materials and set boundaries (do we dump vinegar on the dogs? No. Do we throw the baking soda at your sister? No).
  3. Let your child explore the materials and process.
